Wedding Cake time!

Since my last blog in early May...there's been Kristine and Rajit's Wedding, Leah and Troy, Fay and Prashant, Anjali and Matt, Amanda and Gui and last but not least Naomi and Gary's!!!  A huge congratulations to all of you.  I hope you all were able to enjoy a piece of your wedding cake :)

busy week with tons of fun variety

It's May - finally!  All the April showers better bring some May flowers!

I have a fun filled week full of interesting orders everything from Cupcakes with business logos, Cake Pops (the new trend has suckered me in - get it 'sucker' and 'cake pops' - and this is why I'm not a comedian but a Pastry Chef instead!), two Wedding Cakes: a super contemporary three tier square wedding cake design and a five tier round wedding cake done in shades of lilac and lavender, Mother's Day cakes and last but definitely not least an Elmo birthday cake for a little boy turning 2!

R2-D2 will attend a birthday party tomorrow

I have the honour of feeling like George Lucas himself tomorrow...when I get to deliver a lifesize R2-D2 cake for a lucky boys birthday party.  I can't wait to see the reaction when I walk through the door cake in hand.  Happy 6th Birthday Jed!  Enjoy your android full of chocolate cake and cream cheese icing!

Anatomy cakes

I find it a little bizarre that I am making three (3)....carved custom cakes all with the 'male anatomy' - YES!  you got it!  as the subject matter this week...not quite sure what to think of that!  So my work studio will be rather x-rated this weekend.  Looking forward to a week full of cute baby shower cakes with rubber duckies and frilly bibs and rattles next week just so that I can recover!!!

Congratulations to Nicole & Chad...heading to the fabulous Eglinton Grand momentarily.....and more Congrats to Natalie & Matt who will be partying it up at the Ancaster Old Mill.  Off to do my deliveries for the soon to be newly weds!

Kicking off the wedding cake-a-thon!

Two wedding cakes for this weekend - 4 Tier round cake with peacock feather theme in colours and design and a 3 Tier round elegant ivory cake with hints of small gold brushed blossoms and one striking coral rose...time to get started! 

Wedding cake consultation at 6:00pm and then I'll be preheating the oven - and not to make dinner!

my Gluten-free cakes are so tasty!

I have mastered the art of moist, soft, 'can't believe it's gluten-free' cakes...I'll often bring gluten-free samples to large tasting groups to see if someone can point out a difference....but I trick them everytime!  and for those that have eaten a lot of gluten-free cake - know what a big deal it is to NOT be able to taste a difference in flavour and especially texture!!!  So I'm a proud to say I CAN!

Great finish to the week - two wedding cakes, trade show order and the launch of my new website

Next week - two more wedding cakes...funny enough I'll be heading back to the Ancaster Old Mill and doing a delivery to the Eglinton Grand...I have a custom cake 'golf theme' for a special 80th birthday...a custom Swedish and Canadian flag cake for a family Bon Voyage...another birthday cake celebration at School (editing company)...looking like a fun week!!!

Weekend weddings ahead

First off - my best wishes to Chrisa & Jason as well as Krista & Matt these happy couples will soon be husband and wife and their special days are tomorrow!!!

I will be baking a gorgeous 3 tier off white and ivory creation for Chrisa & Jason's wedding @ Palais Royale

I will also be baking a fun variety of cupcakes for Krista & Matt's wedding @ Ancaster Old Mill

New Website...wooohooo!!!

Whoa...am I ready for this - a new website!!!  Just a tad different from what I had before...ha ha ha - that was for my web designer as he so nicely put it when he first saw my old webpage "I don’t think that site is doing anything for you at the present time"

Exciting...yet scary...though launching a website is nothing quite like launching to the moon right....so I shouldn't panic?!?

Hi *wave* I'm Andy - Pastry Chef extrodinaire - hee hee :)  Tooting my own horn gives me the giggles!  Okay, that didn't sound right!  soooooooooooo....moving right along...

Yes, I'm a Pastry Chef, head baker, cake maker...that word play reminds me of that Pat Benatar song "You're a heartbreaker, dream maker, love taker...don't you mess around with me!"...good song!  Anyway, I make cake!...and cupcakes...and cookies....and all things sweet!

So this is my intro to you!
